about
Whether it be tracing my little sister on a wall with crayons or sculpting the Hyracotherium out of clay for a fourth grade science fair project, I have felt the urge to be creative since a young age. Those amateur undertakings have now evolved into more focused, thoughtful endeavors with my desire to communicate information visually and effectively. I am a designer, although I didn’t identify with this title until I enrolled in the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication in May 2018, majoring in information design with a specialization in business. Growing up, I was convinced I was either going to be a florist or a veterinarian because of my passion for flora and fauna. My dream job changed, however, when I realized how much I enjoy making works of art. Since discovering this calling, I have aimed to give my creations a purpose beyond merely looking pretty. Every time I start a new project, my end goal is to convey a message that is comprehensible and informative, while also aesthetically pleasing. Each illustration, infographic, and page design I make is now done with sole consideration of the viewer. Throughout my career, I intend to use the knowledge and experiences I have acquired to work to my highest potential in any situation. I will continue to be as collaborative, driven, methodical, organized, and patient as I can. My hope for the future is that my designs will not only help arrange the vast amount of information in this world into more digestible formats, but also overcome language barriers and connect people across different cultures.
